Who is OCTA+ in Belgium?
OCTA+ is a relatively small electricity and gas supplier. OCTA+ distinguishes itself from other Belgian energy suppliers by also supplying heating oil and offering the OCTA+ fuel card.
OCTA+ has been active on the Belgian electricity market since 2010, but that doesn't mean OCTA+ was only founded in 2010. The company was founded under the name Becquevort in 1881, switching from collecting household waste to distributing coal. After the war, an evolution took place on the Belgian energy market, in which many households started using heating oil instead of coal — that was the sign for OCTA+ to start as a heating oil supplier. In addition to supplying energy, OCTA+ also started supplying fuel in 1986 by opening its first filling station.

Although OCTA+ has been active on the Belgian market for several years, this supplier has remained relatively small. In the first quarter of 2023, OCTA+ had a market share in Flanders of 1.31% on the electricity market and 1.35% on the gas market.

OCTA+ currently offers three different tariffs for gas and electricity. The differences between these rates can mainly be found in the conditions — duration, indexation and bundled extras.
Additional services
In addition to being a supplier of electricity and natural gas, OCTA+ is also a supplier of fuel oil. There are currently three different OCTA+ heating-oil rates available.
OCTA+ also offers the HybridCard — the OCTA+ fuel card that can be used for classic refuelling but also for charging an electric car. This card works at all Belgian filling stations and at various filling stations in the Netherlands and Luxembourg. All fuel costs are collected in one detailed invoice, with the option to distinguish between different drivers, licence plates or card numbers — making VAT reclaim straightforward for business customers.
