How Do I Switch Telecom Provider?

You can switch telecom provider in different ways:

  • Call the telecom experts of CallMePower: +32 2588 2547.
  • Use Easy Switch when switching for broadband and / or TV.
  • Keep your current phone number when switching for mobile or a fixed line.

With the options mentioned above, your new provider will cancel your old contract (as long as this contract has been taken out with a Belgian provider). Of course, there is still always the possibility to cancel your own contract yourself. Each provider has different procedures to do so.

How Do You Change Provider Using Easy Switch?

Easy Switch is a procedure in which you give your new provider permission to cancel your old contract. To use Easy Switch, you only have to say so when taking out your new contract. You then need to give your new provider your Easy Switch ID and the customer number, you can find both on your invoices.

You can only use Easy Switch when you take out a new broadband or TV subscription or a pack with at least internet or TV. It is not possible to use Easy Switch when you switch for just a mobile phone or a fixed line subscription.

How Do You Change Provider With Number Portability?

If you inform your new provider during the ordering process of your new mobile phone or fixed line subscription that you would like to keep your current phone number, you give your new provider permission to cancel your current subscription. To use this option, you need to tell your new provider what your phone number and your sim card number are.

It is important to know that you can only keep your phone number if your current phone number is already a Belgian one. If you move within Belgium, you can only keep the phone number of your fixed line if you move within the same municipality.

How Do I Fix Internet Issues?

When experiencing internet issues, there are many things you can do yourself to solve the issues. Our advice to solve internet issues are:

  • Verify whether you have used all your data.
  • Verify whether your modem is still working / connected correctly.
  • Test the internet connection on a different device.
  • Verify the positioning of the modem.
  • Re-start the modem and other, electronic devices.
  • Perform a speedtest.
  • Connect your device directly to the modem using an Ethernet cable.
  • Change the channel on the modem.
  • Change the DSN and clear the DSN memory.
  • Buy Wi-Fi boosters / repeaters.
  • Change telecom provider.
  • Replace old devices.

Apart from this, you can also check whether there are currently any network outages known. If this is the case, you cannot do anything yourself, apart from waiting until the network outage is resolved.

How Can I File A Complaint Against My Telecom Provider?

Before filing a complaint, we recommend you to talk with your telecom provider first. When you cannot come to a solution together with your provider or if you are not happy with the proposed solution, you can still consider filing a complaint. Filing a complaint can be done with the Ombudsman for Telecommunication. They will treat your complaint within 90 days.

Filing a complaint with the Ombudsman for Telecommunication can be done in several ways:
