Points of Attention When Taking Out an Orange Contract

Is the Orange contract your first contract in Belgium? Do not forget to cancel, if necessary, your telecom contract(s) in your previous country. Important to know as well is that it is not possible to keep your current phone number when you take out a mobile or fixed phone subscription with Orange. Do not forget to inform important institutes and organizations (e.g. the government) and your family and friends about this change!

Do you currently already have a contract with a Belgium telecom provider? Switching of provider can be done in three ways:

  • Call CallMePower for help with taking out a contract with Orange and cancelling your current contract.
  • Take out a new contract yourself and inform Orange that you want to use Easy Switch and/or that you want to keep your current phone number. Orange will then take care of cancelling your current contract(s).
  • Take out a new contract and cancel your current contract yourself.

After taking out a new contract with Orange, it is important to make sure that you send back all the equipment that you rented or loaned from your old provider back to them. If you do not do so, you may be charged a fee.

How Do You Cancel an Orange Contract?

Are you no longer happy with Orange? If you want to switch to a different provider, you can call CallMePower for help with comparing telecom providers, taking out a new contract, and cancelling your current contract with Orange. You can reach our telecom experts on +32 2588 2547 or through the online chat.

You can also take out a contract with a new telecom provider yourself. You will then have the choice between cancelling your Orange contract yourself, or using Easy Switch. With the latter, your new provider will cancel your Orange contract.

If you want to keep your current phone number, you can inform your new provider about that during the ordering process. Just as with Easy Switch, your new provider will then cancel your phone subscription(s) with Orange.

Of course, you also have the possibility to cancel your Orange contracts yourself. To do this, you need to fill out the dedicated cancellation form on the Orange website.

What Do You Need To Do When You Move?

What you need to do when you move, depends on the contracts you have taken out with Orange and where you move to:

  • I move within Belgium and have a broadband (and mobile) subscription or a pack
You have to inform Orange through the dedicated moving form about your move. They will then contact you to make an appointment for the installation in your new place.
  • I move within Belgium and have a mobile subscription
You have to change your address in MyOrange from the old address to your new address.
  • I move abroad and have a broadband (and mobile) subscription or a pack
It is not possible to remain a customer with Orange. Therefore, you would need to cancel your contract through the dedicated cancellation form and take out new contracts with a provider in your new country.
  • I move abroad and have a mobile subscription
Theoretically, it is possible to remain a customer with Orange, however, you might want to compare local offers with your Orange contract and decide for yourself how important it is to keep your Belgian phone number.

If you move within Belgium, it is important to verify ahead of time whether the place is already connected to the Telenet or VOO network (the networks Orange uses for broadband). If this is the case, you need to inform Orange about your move three to four weeks before the actual moving date. If your new place is not yet connected to either the Telenet or the VOO network, you need to inform Orange at least six weeks before the moving date about the move.
