Points of Attention When Taking Out a DIGI Contract

Is the DIGI contract your first contract in Belgium? Do not forget to cancel, if necessary, your telecom contract(s) in your previous country. Important to know as well is that it is not possible to keep your current phone number when you take out a mobile or fixed phone subscription with DIGI. Do not forget to inform important institutes and organizations (e.g. the government) and your family and friends about this change!

Do you currently already have a contract with a Belgium telecom provider? Switching of provider can be done in two ways:

  • Take out a new contract and inform DIGI that you want to use Easy Switch and/or that you want to keep your current phone number. DIGI will then take care of cancelling your current contract(s).
  • Take out a new contract and cancel your current contract yourself.

After taking out a new contract with DIGI, it is important to make sure that you send back all the equipment that you rented or loaned from your old provider back to them. If you do not do so, you may be charged a fee.

How Do You Cancel a DIGI Contract?

Are you no longer happy with DIGI? If you want to switch to a different provider, you can call CallMePower for help with comparing telecom providers, taking out a new contract, and cancelling your current contract with DIGI. You can reach our telecom experts on +32 2588 2547 or through the online chat.

You can also take out a contract with a new telecom provider yourself. You will then have the choice between cancelling your DIGI contract yourself, or using Easy Switch. With the latter, your new provider will cancel your DIGI contract.

If you want to keep your current phone number, you can inform your new provider about that during the ordering process. Just as with Easy Switch, your new provider will then cancel your phone subscription(s) with DIGI.

Of course, you also have the possibility to cancel your DIGI contracts yourself. To do this, you need to contact the customer service of DIGI.

What Do You Need To Do When You Move?

What you need to do when you move, depends on the contracts you have taken out with DIGI and where you move to:

  • I move within Belgium and have a broadband (and mobile) subscription or a pack
You have to contact the DIGI customer service about your move. They will then contact you to make an appointment for the installation in your new place.
  • I move within Belgium and have a mobile subscription
You have to change your address in MyDIGI from the old address to your new address.
  • I move abroad and have a broadband (and mobile) subscription or a pack
It is not possible to remain a customer with DIGI. Therefore, you would need to cancel your contract by contacting DIGI and take out new contracts with a provider in your new country.
  • I move abroad and have a mobile subscription
Theoretically, it is possible to remain a customer with DIGI, however, you might want to compare local offers with your DIGI contract and decide for yourself how important it is to keep your Belgian phone number.

If you move within Belgium, it is important to verify ahead of time whether it is possible to receive DIGI at your new address. If this is the case, you need to inform DIGI about your move three to four weeks before the actual moving date. If your new place is not yet connected to DIGI's networks, but it is possible, you need to inform DIGI at least six weeks before the moving date about the move.
